![]() An adaptive jitter buffer dynamically adjusts the amount of jitter buffering to take into account the variable delay of a network (such as the Internet) over time. When network conditions allow for low delay transfer of audio signals, the jitter buffer is made very small to reduce any perceived audio delays. When network conditions result in long delays in the transfer of audio signals, the jitter buffer is expanded in size to take this delay into account and provide the best possible audio quality under these conditions. Also known as a Dynamic Jitter Buffer. ![]()
